Apple never used the words 'Metaverse' and 'AI' at WWDC23, but why?

Everyone's talking about 'Metaverse' and 'AI' these days. We thought Apple would mention these words too, but they didn't. Isn't that odd? Here's what I think about it.
Firstly, Apple is known for its distinct marketing strategy which, instead of focusing on complex technical details, emphasizes the user experience, design, and functionality. This strategy has allowed the company to convey their products' values to a wider audience, from the tech-savvy to the non-tech individuals.
Regarding the term "AI" or "Artificial Intelligence", Apple might avoid it because it can be perceived as intimidating or impersonal by some consumers. This could potentially clash with Apple's reputation for user-friendly products. Furthermore, privacy concerns related to AI can also discourage Apple from explicitly using the term. They tend to highlight their commitment to user privacy, which can be undermined by AI's reputation for data harvesting.
As for the term "Metaverse", it's possible that Apple is being cautious with its adoption. The Metaverse concept, as of my knowledge cutoff in 2021, is still in its early stages, with its implications and direction still uncertain. Jumping onto such a potentially volatile term could potentially misalign with Apple's image of stability and dependability.
Ultimately, Apple's choice of language reflects its brand identity and strategic goals. It's not necessarily that they are avoiding these concepts or technologies, but rather they are reframing them in a way that aligns with their philosophy and branding. By doing so, Apple consistently maintains its strong brand image and communicates effectively with its broad user base.
